Clinton Community College Hosts Camp Invention

Clinton Community College hosted Camp Invention this past week. This program, from the National Inventors Hall of Fame in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, gave kids a unique chance to learn about the importance of intellectual property while diving into fun activities like exploring, creating, and designing.

Focused on promoting STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) learning, Camp Invention also builds leadership, perseverance, and resourcefulness while encouraging entrepreneurship. For over 30 years, Camp Invention has been helping young innovators gain confidence and problem-solving skills through hands-on STEM activities.

This year's camp was packed with cool projects where campers:

  • Created their own sports ball and game board.
  • Explored the science of light.
  • Solved water challenges from around the world.
  • Participated in a fun prototyping game show.

The campers enjoyed moving between different classrooms, working on projects both on their own and in teams, and using their creativity to solve problems. The camp’s instructors made sure every day was new and exciting, keeping the kids engaged and eager to learn.

Lunchtime in the cafeteria was a highlight, as campers bonded with old friends and made new ones. After lunch, leadership interns and leaders in training (youth leaders) organized team-building games on the lawn, a favorite part of the camp for many kids.
