Two Clinton Community College Students Receive SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence

Clinton Community College is proud to announce that two graduating students, David Macalpine and Leticia Reynolds, have been awarded the 2025 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence. This honor is the highest recognition given to SUNY students and highlights exceptional achievements in academics, leadership, campus involvement, community service, and the arts.

Macalpine, a Human Services major and U.S. Army veteran, currently serves as Vice President of the Student Senate and Student Trustee on the College’s Board of Trustees. In addition to his leadership roles, he works as a Federal Work-Study student and maintains a 3.9 GPA. Macalpine’s career goal is to serve the veteran community by assisting in navigating the benefits system and acting as a mentor and liaison.

Reynolds, a Nursing major with a 3.8 GPA, is President of the CCC Nursing Club and Vice President of Membership in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Her extensive volunteer efforts include tutoring peers, participating in College Information Sessions for prospective nursing students, and organizing community-focused initiatives such as disaster relief food drives, children’s literacy book collections, and campus wellness events.

Both students recently traveled to Albany, NY, to receive their awards in a special ceremony hosted by SUNY Chancellor John B. King, Jr. Their dedication and service exemplify the values and excellence SUNY seeks to recognize through this award.

Clinton Community College congratulates David and Leticia on this well-deserved recognition and applauds their contributions to the campus and greater community.
