Clinton CC to Host Summer Information Sessions on SUNY Reconnect Free College Program

Clinton Community College will host two information sessions this summer to help prospective students learn about SUNY Reconnect, a program that provides eligible adult learners with the opportunity to attend college tuition-free.

The sessions will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 17, in person at the George Moore Building, 46 Beekman St., Plattsburgh, and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, in a virtual format. Participants will receive an overview of the program, including eligibility requirements, benefits and enrollment information.

Representatives from Clinton Community College's Financial Aid, Admissions, Bursar and Student Support Services offices, as well as the college's ASAP program, will be available to discuss resources designed to support students throughout their educational journey.

Attendees are encouraged to register in advance for the session that best fits their schedule.

SUNY Reconnect provides free college opportunities for New York residents ages 25 to 55 who enroll in an eligible academic program. For most programs, participants must not already hold a college degree; however, Nursing is exempt from this requirement.

Current eligible programs at Clinton Community College include:

  • Computer and electronics technology
  • Computer information technology and cybersecurity
  • Environmental science
  • Industrial/commercial electrician
  • Mechanical technology
  • Nursing

The SUNY Reconnect program covers tuition, fees, books and supplies after all other financial aid has been applied. Room and board expenses are not covered.

Prospective students who are unable to attend either information session may schedule an appointment with Adult Student Advisor Breana Warren. Warren can be reached at breana.warren@clinton.edu or 518-562-4120.
