IAM at Clinton CC Open House Invites All Ages to Explore Manufacturing and Technology

IAM Open House - Institute for Advanced Manufacturing at Clinton Community College

The Institute for Advanced Manufacturing at Clinton Community College will host an open house on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., inviting people of all ages interested in advanced manufacturing and technology to attend.

This free event offers a unique opportunity to explore the growing field of advanced manufacturing through a self-guided, interactive experience. Attendees can tour the IAM facility, located at 53 Clinton Point Drive, at their own pace while engaging with hands-on demonstrations and educational stations.

Visitors will have the chance to explore a variety of advanced technologies, including virtual welding, 3D printing, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), computer numerical control (CNC) machining, hydraulics systems, commercial electric wiring, instrumentation and electric motor control.

Members of Plattsburgh Robotics, a non-profit community program serving local youth, will also be on hand with demonstrations and information about robotics education and engagement opportunities.

In addition to technical exhibits, the IAM Open House will feature several informational sessions, including:

  • An admissions presentation providing an overview of the college application process
  • An Institute for Advanced Manufacturing presentation highlighting programs, equipment and career pathways
  • A Women in Advanced Manufacturing & Technology Panel where industry professionals will share their experiences and insights into successful careers in the field

“This Open House is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in hands-on, high demand careers to see firsthand what our programs offer,” said Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Workforce Development D. Billy Jones. “We’re excited to connect with future students and members of the community while showcasing the innovative learning environment and career-focused training available through the Institute for Advanced Manufacturing at Clinton.”

The event is ideal for individuals exploring college options, considering careers in manufacturing or technology or looking to connect with faculty, students and local industry leaders.

Online registration is encouraged, though walk-ins are welcome. Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
