Regional Wastewater Operators Invited to Training Event at Clinton CC’s Institute for Advanced Manufacturing

The Institute for Advanced Manufacturing (IAM) at Clinton Community College, in partnership with Fleet, will host a one-day training event later this month for wastewater operators across the region.

The Wastewater Systems Training Event will be held Wednesday, June 24, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the IAM, 53 Clinton Point Drive.

This hands-on training is designed to help operators from municipalities to engineering firms build practical knowledge and confidence in critical water and wastewater applications.

The program will feature a series of one-hour sessions focused on pumping systems, controls, maintenance and best operational practices. Participants will gain skills that can be applied immediately in the field.

Attendees will also earn six continuing education units in wastewater treatment, which are often required to maintain operator licenses.

“This is important training that is being offered locally for our wastewater operators to gain continuing education units,” said Vice President of Strategic Initiatives and Workforce Development Billy Jones. “Oftentimes, our local operators will have to travel long distances to gain knowledge and earn these units. The IAM is proud to partner with Fleet to give our wastewater operators this opportunity to perform their essential job duties for our municipalities and their businesses.”

The event is also co-sponsored by Koester and Tek-Sales.

The cost is $100 per person and includes lunch. Registration can be completed online.
